WE are dedicated to breeding the ideal Norwegian Elkhound: Temperament, Health and Structure are the building blocks of any good dog. We strive to breed to the standard, always keeping in mind the origin and purpose for which the Norwegian Elkhound was originally bred for.

Daggarwoods is named after an area in Nova Scotia, just past the town of Antigonish on the way to Cape Breton Island. The Daggar Woods is an area largely covered by Softwood forest and Marsh, long thought to be haunted, tales abound from the time the area was first settled. (Peggy tells wonderful ghost stories about the area.)

Peggy started the Kennel in the late 1970's With dogs from Vin-Melca and Craftdal Lines. In 1992 I bought my first Elkhound-Ch Daggarwoods Kyllen the Warrior, the boy who changed my life and introduced me to this fantastic breed from Peggy and in 1993 Peggy and Owen handed the rein's over to me.
